Hey Dave,

wow ~ that's kind of depressing!! I picked up a trainer this week, and my husband's looking at some rollers, so there will be working out going on!! One problem I've run into is my computer works off the front wheel and now it doesn't move lol, so I have to do some adjusting to get some stats. I read some of Chris Carmichael's book but it was very confusing to me. I did just pick up a century training guide that was really easy to understand, so I think I'm going to try to follow that plan on the trainer over the winter ~ doing the beginner suggested workouts, then I can jump to intermediate in spring, and hopefully be doing the advanced workouts by summer?? We'll see. I am up for a mileage challenge as soon as I can start counting my miles again!!

Get a trainer!
Chris Carmichael wrote in one of his books that if you stop riding for 3 weeks it will take you two months to get your fitness back to where it was (My numbers might be a little off, but it is a very dramatic fall off).

Anyway, my very generous girlfriend bought me a Tacx trainer a few years ago(tacxvr.com)and it is great. You can quantify any part of your workout you want.

I'm trying to get into a workout routine now- If you would like I'll put more info into my blog about the trainer.

P.S. I'm up for a mileage challenge

OK you guys and the ladies over at Team Estrogen are making me feel a little bit like a WUSS. But I already knew I was a wuss about being cold. :) Maybe I'll do a little bit more research on riding in the cold and see what I can do.

Too cold? Too snowy? Too icy? Too deep a flood? Is there such a thing? ;)

Bundle up and ride in the cold ;) See http://arcticglass.blogspot.com/ for a very (excessively?) extreme version of that.
