Today’s Ride ~ 8-11-09

Got a little bit of a late start today. As much as I love to ride I still hate being up before dawn lol.

Headed out about 7:15am. It was cooler than it has been lately at 67 degrees (it has been in the low 80s most mornings). The sun was coming up and basically a beautiful day.

I turned on an interesting interview from the Blog Mastermind Course I’m taking and set off down the gravel. I’m starting to feel a little more confident riding on the gravel. (a little)

Made it the .66 miles to the end of the gravel and then was chased by a dog which was kinda scary, but worked out ok. I was a little freaked out the first time, but was expecting it the second time. I even stopped to take a picture when he chased me up the gravel on the way home.

I went out to the Chikaskia River and back this morning. The river was quite beautiful with the sun coming up over the trees. I didn’t realize but I had put my camera in my water backpack storage area and the water was cold, so when I pulled my camera out the lens fogged over.  I just wiped it off and it was fine.

It rained pretty hard last night and was still pretty muggy. I had minimal wind ~ which is just about unheard of around here, so I had no wind at my back on the way home. It was a little tougher but I made it. Finding I’m able to use higher gears now and keep up my cadence. I clocked my cadence today, but not sure I did it right because it said I was doing 96 rpm ~ I’ll check that again tomorrow.
