I really only use it as a speedometer and odometer; I have a handheld GPS I sometimes bring with me because I'm a geocacher (think high-tech treasure hunt). I'm not too concerned with knowing how many calories are being burned and the like...my body usually tells me when that's going on. I have the same model you use, and it’s just fine.
