About

They don’t measure your inseam to make sure your bike fits when you’re 10.

Apparently I’m not 10 anymore, because the world of cycling has gotten a lot more complicated. If you’ve been out of the cycling world for a while you may notice there’s no banana seat option anymore. What is available can make your head spin though.

Cycling has become a high tech sport with many options and tons of variety. There’s so many different types of bikes, components, and the terminology? Good grief, you need a cycling dictionary to follow the conversation sometimes.

If you are just getting back into cycling or are jumping in for the first time you may find your head spinning, and feel like you don’t understand what any one is talking about! That’s ok ~ it happened to me too.  That’s why this blog came to be, to help YOU figure out, and feel your way around the cycling world.

You’ll find information about different bikes, different components, tips for bike safety, cycling workouts and so much more, all in easy to understand English!! Yes, I will translate bike speak into English so you can understand, and maybe even be able to go to your favorite bike forum and understand what they’re talking about!

Whether you’re riding for fun, fitness or to complete your first century you’ll find what you need to know to accomplish your goals here ~ in a fun and easy to understand way.

I can’t wait to hear your success stories ~ so please make sure you share your ups and downs in the comments section. :)   You can read my cycling history and how I got back on the bike this time.

Good for you, Jackie! You can do it! When I returned to cycling after a 10 year hiatus, I had to walk up part of the steep one mile hill which is between home and town 12 miles away, where I commuted for groceries . The hill is on the return trip. Now, five years later, I can ride up it at twice the speed. You’ll get there!
